Typesetting Errors |
| When creating the PDF of the Full Document, LaTeX will check for errors in the document. An exclamation sign will be displayed in those nodes that have errors. You may click the exclamation sign to display information about the error. Note that in some cases the error may be detected after the error has been produced, therefore the error may be placed in a part of the document that has no errors. For instance, suppose that there is an \begin command that must be match with an \end command, if you forget to write the \end command, the error will be detected later in the document. To correct this type of error, you must inspect the nodes that are adjacent to the node where the error is displayed. Locating Errors |
| In some cases, the error may not be displayed where it actually is, finding and fixing this type of error may be difficult. You may try to use the Enabled/Disabled option from the toolbar to disable some nodes. If the error disappears when a specific node is disabled, you have located the error source. Disabling Individual Lines |
| In the LaTeX the percent sign is used to insert comments in a document, you can used the percent sign to temporarily disable an individual line (from the percent sign to the next line break). You may want to disable an individual line because there is an error in it, or because you want to keep the text for possible future use.
